   ABOUT ME

A.J. Hoover is an offbeat eclectic type as a former farm kid, factory worker, street cop, forensic chemist, CSI guy, businessman, and other Murphy's Law type odd jobs.

Currently drawing upon his veteran cop experience, A.J. is writing his "Mister Hobo" police series. Book #1 is "The Chinese Fire Drill". Coming soon is Rogue Rage and four other sequels. Also, nine novellas are planned for the early police career of Mister Hobo, aka Patrolman H.O. Beau. There are also outlines for a few sci-fi and historical fantasy novels in the near future.

A.J. graduated with a B.S. Chemistry major and Earth Science minor from Purdue U. and completed advance FBI, ATF, DEA training for homicide, arson, and narcotic cases. He is now a former certified expert witness in Federal and State courts for same.

A family man living quietly with his beloved wife Kris in suburbia America, A.J. enjoys bold coffee, good books, music, art, photography, movies, a good joke, baseball, travel, church, and life in general; basically whatever else it takes to make a little chicken soup for the droll.

An avid reader and budding author, A.J. is also a country/blues/gospel guitar picker and singer. His music talent is best described as self entertaining yet he is currently writing a possible future crossover country/rock/rap hit entitled "When a Masochist Says Hurt Me, The True Sadist Says NO! Mama."

Cannery Row by John Steinbeck, Catch 22 by Joseph Heller, The Deep Blue Goodbye by John D. MacDonald, High Crusade by Poul Anderson, Sackett by Louis L'Amour, and Get Shorty by Elmore Leonard have probably flavored A.J. Hoover's writing style the most.
